Valors on 8th
Valors on 8th was created for Veteran Engagement in the Community and build the Strongest Veteran Community in America.
To Engage with Veterans with everyday situations and also to give our Veterans the purpose and sense of belonging in the Community. Whether it be attending Movies, Sporting Events, Volunteering at Ironman, 5k races or food banks. We also provide info and resources for help with Employment as well as Education opportunities. We also do joint operations with other Veteran organizations as well as the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Most veterans are too proud to ask for any help even though they may need it at a time of extreme need. Veterans will always believe that they are strong enough for anything. The actual fact is that sometimes veterans do need to reach out and ask for help. When you engage and build that trust with a Veteran, he/she will more likely be more active in the Community and want to be part of it.
Whatever you can do to help this cause is more than appreciated. Whether Volunteering or attending an Event, being active with a Veteran (physically or socially), getting to know them shows the comradery they miss from fellow Veterans they have served with. One way to Engage is to just invite them for a cup of coffee or tea, or just walking around their block where they live or even running or walking around Tempe TownLake. It’s all up to you on how you ENGAGE with them.
Like our motto says “Engaging with Veterans One Event at a Time.” – RO
